– EN Fashion – Monse has been unveiled as the latest fashion brand to join forces with Disney, with the cute collaboration raising money for pet rescue charities.
In recent months, Loewe, Coach and Rag & Bone have all teamed up with the animation studio, and now it’s the turn of Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia’s brand to be inspired by Disney’s famous cartoon characters.
Calling on Disney’s most famous dogs, Pluto and Goofy, the label has now launched the Monse x Disney pre-fall line, with 100 per cent of gross proceeds, sans tax, donated to six New York-based pet rescue organisations.
“I love Disney, my family goes every year to Disney World, so it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to collaborate with them,” Garcia, who also helms Oscar de la Renta along with Kim, told The Hollywood Reporter. “Minnie (Mouse) and her friends came to our spring-summer 2018 show, and we’d been in touch for a while to discuss the right opportunity to work together.”
For the accompanying campaign, Monse muse Dilone models the 12-piece collection alongside a furry co-star.
Kim said they came up with the idea to work with Disney after they shot their pre-fall 2019 lookbook, which featured 30 rescue dogs alongside the models.
“When we decided to partner with the pet rescue organisations and feature the dogs up for adoption we immediately thought of Disney and the connection to Pluto and Goofy. We especially loved Pluto, as he reminded us of the dogs being featured in the lookbook,” she added.
